Most Ground Protection Mats are manufactured with dense, waterproof materials that deliver water impermeability, low maintenance requirements and excellent stain resistance, making their cleaning process far more efficient than concrete floor maintenance. They effectively resist and clear common industrial contaminants such as dust, iron scraps, oil stains, water residues and fine powder debris. The standardized cleaning workflow follows three core principles: daily light cleaning, scheduled deep cleaning and targeted treatment for stubborn stains. Proper cleaning protocols prevent material damage and performance degradation. The entire maintenance process requires no professional equipment and can be completed manually, fully meeting the high-frequency cleaning demands of industrial factories and warehouses.

Daily basic cleaning constitutes routine maintenance for floating surface dust, scattered debris and fine particulate residues. Upon completion of daily operational activities, industrial brooms thoroughly sweep the mat surface to remove large debris and granular waste. Industrial vacuum cleaners extract fine dust and gap-residual scraps to eliminate hard-to-reach stains and dead-area contamination. Minor water stains and floating oil residues can be directly wiped away with damp mops or clean cloths and left to air dry naturally. Consistent daily cleaning prevents stain accumulation and long-term solidification, significantly reducing the difficulty of periodic deep cleaning procedures.

Scheduled deep cleaning is recommended every one to two weeks for mats with mild oil buildup, surface grime and dark discoloration. Only neutral industrial detergents diluted with clean water are approved for use. Strong corrosive agents such as hydrochloric acid, caustic soda and bleach are strictly prohibited, as these chemicals erode PVC and rubber materials, causing surface whitening, structural hardening, cracking and the peeling of anti-slip textures. Diluted neutral detergent is evenly sprayed across the mat surface and left for 3 to 5 minutes to soften embedded dirt. Wear-resistant scrub brushes and cleaning mops are then used to thoroughly scour the surface and textured gaps to remove accumulated oil and grime. Finally, residual detergent is completely wiped off with clean water to eliminate chemical residue.

Targeted stain treatment is required for persistent contaminants including heavy grease, fully solidified grime, pigment deposition and adhesive residues. For thick solidified machine oil and butter grease, specialized oil decomposing agents can be locally applied and left for approximately 10 minutes to fully dissolve stubborn grease, followed by targeted scrubbing and comprehensive water rinsing. Professional glue removers gently eliminate adhesive and pigment residues without aggressive polishing, which may damage mat surface textures. For extensively soiled mats with large-area contamination, detachable Ground Protection Mats can be rolled up, transported to open cleaning areas, thoroughly rinsed with water and brushes, then flattened and fully air-dried before reinstallation.

Standard cleaning and maintenance precautions are critical to preserving the service life and functional performance of Ground Protection Mats. All mats must be completely air-dried after cleaning before being returned to service, preventing mildew proliferation and surface slippage caused by trapped bottom moisture, as well as material softening and degumming from prolonged water immersion. Abrasive tools such as steel wool and sharp scrapers are prohibited for aggressive cleaning, as they scratch the mat surface and damage precision anti-slip textures, weakening both protective and anti-slip capabilities. Flushing with boiling water is forbidden in high-temperature environments to prevent thermal expansion, contraction and permanent material deformation. Additionally, regular ventilation in humid work environments maintains dry conditions and inhibits microbial growth. Slightly worn sections can receive targeted maintenance to extend overall mat service life and sustain consistent cleanliness, anti-slip performance and structural integrity.
